Intel Cutressanandtech VP Xeon Spelman is the vice president and general manager of Intel’s Data Center Group, responsible for leading the company’s efforts to develop and deliver advanced technologies and solutions for next-generation data centers. In this role, she oversees the development and execution of the company’s strategy for the data center, including products, platform solutions, and services.
We had the opportunity to interview Intel Cutressanandtech VP Xeon Spelman about her career journey, her role at Intel, and her thoughts on the future of the data center.
Q: Could you tell us a bit about your background and how you came to be at Intel?
A: I started my career in the Intel Data Center Group back in 2002 as an engineering manager. I was a part of the first team to bring Intel’s Xeon processor family to market. Fast forward to today, I’m the Vice President and General Manager of the Data Center Group. In this role, I’m responsible for driving Intel’s strategy, products, platform solutions, and services for the data center, and making sure we deliver the best possible experience to our customers.
Q: What is your vision for the future of the data center?
A: We’re in a period of major transformation in the data center, and I believe the future of the data center is all about delivering a more secure, efficient, and reliable experience. We’re seeing a shift in how data centers are designed, from traditional on-premise infrastructure to cloud and edge computing. We’re also seeing a shift in how data is used, from batch processing to real-time analytics and machine learning. My vision for the future of the data center is to enable these transformations by providing the most secure, reliable, and efficient experience possible.
Q: What do you think makes Intel unique in the data center space?
A: Intel is unique in that we’re the only company with a full portfolio of technologies and solutions for the data center, from CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, and software stack. This allows us to deliver an end-to-end solution that provides the best possible performance and experience. We also have a long history of innovation in the data center space, with our Xeon processors and other products leading the way. Finally, we have a deep understanding of our customers’ needs and are committed to helping them achieve their data center objectives.
